Millie’s photography explores many subjects including the human state, history, fashion and documentary. In some of her recent work she has started exploring the world of self portraiture and what it means to be a photographer who photographs themselves. This has given her a stronger understanding of what it is like to be in front of the lens instead of behind it.
Lily is a project expressing the alter-ego of Millie, the side that deals with the trauma in her life. These images symbolise the emotional state of Lily and how she expresses herself. Millie wanted to capture the raw moments and turn it into something visually graceful and delicate.
These images are from Millie’s most current project exploring the ways which colour can affect human behaviour. This project is being photographed in the style of fashion and still life photography.
